In October 2021, Dr. Stephanie Jones started at the IMK-AAF after having successfully obtained DFG funding for her own position. Her research will investigate the transformations of brown carbon aerosol using single droplet levitation techniques and cloud chamber experiments.

Dr. Jones obtained her PhD at Royal Holloway, University of London UK on the oxidation of thin films on the surface of atmospheric aerosols. She is excited to join the IMK-AAF after recently completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada, where she studied the absorption properties of brown carbon droplets and surface photochemistry in indoor environments. Dr. Jones is very grateful to the DFG for funding and looks forward to performing research at the IMK-AAF.
